Secure Wordpress - Am I Scaring You?

I have had two WordPress blogs. That was in a time when I was doing virtually no online marketing, and until I found time to handle the situation (weeks later), these sites were penalized at the major search engines. They weren't eliminated, no matter how the evaluations were reduced.

My first step is but it helped me. I had a good old fashion pity party. I cried and railed against the evil hackers (that where probably 13 and smarter then me) And then I did before I even started my site, what I should have done. And here is where I want you to start as well. Learn hacked. The thing about how to fix hacked wordpress site and why so many people recommend because it is so easy to learn it is. That is also a detriment to the health of our sites. We need to learn how to put in a safety fence.

Safeguard your login credentials - Don't keep your login credentials where they might be found by a hacker. Store them offsite, as well as offline. Roboform is good for protecting them, also. Food for thought!

Yes, you want to do regular backups of your site. I recommend at least a weekly database backup and a monthly "full" backup. More. Definitely more, if you make changes and additions to your site. If you have a community of people which are in there all the time, or make changes multiple times every day, a backup should be a minimum.

You can extend the plugin features with premium plugins such as: Amazon S3 plugin, Members only plugin, DropShop etc.. I think you can use it and this plugin is a fantastic option.

Using a plugin for WordPress security just go makes great sense. Backups need to be performed on a regular basis. Don't become a victim of visit the website not being proactive about your 16, because!
